This connector includes two interconnectable corresponding elements (10, 20) each formed by an insulating body (12; 22) made of biocompatible material, to which is fixed at least one male or female electrical contact (11) coming in mechanical and electrical contact with a respectively female or male corresponding contact (21) of the opposite element. According to the invention, these corresponding elements interlock mechanically with a fitting which ensures by itself both the mechanical connection of the two elements of the connector and the sealing of the contacts with respect to the external medium. Since the two interlocked insulating bodies form a residual internal volume (17, 19) around each contact, this volume may optionally (possibly) be occupied by an impervious filling material introduced after interlocking the two elements of the connector. <IMAGE>
