A building element for erecting retaining walls comprises a first front wall 2, a second wall 3 projecting at right angles from the latter, and two side walls 4, 4' which extend at an angle from the said first and second walls 2, 3 so that, together with these, they delimit a space which opens out rearwards at the side of the element furthest from the front wall 2 and which has the purpose of receiving soil material which forms in an essentially wedge-shaped filling whose volume is determined by the slide angle of the soil material in question. The second wall 3 forms a roof wall serving as a horizontal wall and delimiting the said space at the top, this space being open not just towards the rear, but also towards the bottom. For connecting the element to an upright, two connection members 12, 12', for example steel wire hoops, are secured in a free longitudinal side edge 6 of the roof wall 3. <IMAGE> |
