Imidazolyl compounds containing urethane and urea radicals and their application as hardeners for epoxy resins

The invention relates to hardeners for epoxy resins. These hardeners are derivatives of an imidazole containing urea and/or urethane radicals, which were prepared by fastening acrylic acid or one of its esters to an imidazole or an N-(aminoalkyl)imidazole, by then reacting the addition product obtained with polyamines or aminoalcohols in order to obtain polyamides or polyaminoamides or polyamidoalcohols and by lengthening the reaction products with approximately equivalent amounts of mono- or polyisocyanates or of mono- or polyisocyanurates. Such hardeners can be used for hardening plastics based on epoxy resins which are reinforced with fibres.
