PURPOSE:To reduce a load on a user side program even when the index part of a data base is not prepared, or incomplete. CONSTITUTION:A record key judging means 11 recognizes the item of a record key designated by a user application program 2 on a logic record. In the case of the absence of the index setting of the recognized item on a directory 5 in a preliminarily decided processing mode, the definition of the item on the directory 5 is changed from the absence of the index to the presence of the index by an index definition changing means 14. An index record is prepared at an index part 7 by an index preparing means 15 from the logic record of a chart data part 6 from the indication of the index definition changing means. The index record is prepared through the index preparing means 15 at the index part 7 by an index reproduction judging means 13, in the case of the presence of the index setting of the item on the directory part 5, and in the case of the incompletion of the index record of the index part 7, in the preliminarily decided processing mode. |
