PURPOSE:To obtain the subject conjugate fiber useful as fiber for industrial material, having adhesion and microorganism degradability, comprising and poly(beta-hydroxyalkanoate) or its copolymer as a core component and poly-epsilon- caprolactone, etc., as a sheath component. CONSTITUTION:Poly(beta-hydroxyalkanoate) or its copolymer is used as a core component and poly-epsilon-caprolactone and/or poly-beta-propiolactone as a sheath component and subjected to melt spinning by utilizing a spinneret having spinnings holes with a sheath core conjugation ratio of 1/1 and 0.35mm diameter at 260 deg.C spinning temperature, wound at 1,200m/minute speed, drawn at 40-50 deg.C at two stages so as to give 2.2 times total draw ratio, successively introduced into a pushing gear type crimper, crimped, provided with a finishing oil and dried to give the objective microorganism degradable conjugate fiber having thermal adhesion. The fiber is made into staple fibers and subjected to a card to give web, which is heat-treated in a hot air furnace to give nonwoven fabric having excellent mechanical characteristics. |
