PURPOSE:To realize torque control of an inexpensive 4-pole synchronous motor by deciding mechanical position of a rotor by detecting a rotor position without sensor and detecting a peak current during one revolution of the motor in a motor controller for a compressor for torque-controlling the 4-pole motor for driving the compressor. CONSTITUTION:A current flowing to a synchronous motor 5A is detected by a current detector R1, and a peak part of the current is output as a reference position signal by a reference position detector. A rotor position of the motor 5A is output as a rotor position detection signal by a rotor position detector 6. A torque of the motor 5A is output based on the load torque pattern of a first torque pattern memory 7B2 in response to the mechanical position of the rotor decided according to the reference position signal and the rotor position detection signal hereby to obtain a motor controller for a compressor in which torque control of the 4-pole motor can be inexpensively executed. |
