PURPOSE:To obtain a variable power image of fine quality by switching a variable power method in accordance with the property and sort of an image. CONSTITUTION:An operator sets up an output format or an interpolation processing method from an input setting part 21. At the time of starting printing operation, a CPU 32 extracts compressed image data stored in a memory 37 transfers the data to an extension circuit 39, which extends the compressed data in each line, reproduces original data and writes the reproduced data in a line buffer 41. Then an interpolating operation part 42 executes the expansion processing of the image at a determined expansion rate by means of an interpolation method based upon an interpolation coefficient set up in an interpolation efficient control circuit 40 based upon the contents of the buffer 41. This processing is executed based upon a pipeline method and the interpolation method can be changed only by changing an applied interpolation coefficient. Expanded image data outputted from the operation part 42 at real time are selectively sent to a semiconductor laser controller F3 or a display 22 and an image is outputted by raster scanning. |
