PURPOSE:To transport a high temp. slab which is obtained by continuous casting to rolling stage by decreasing heat radiation. CONSTITUTION:An opening which is extended in the longitudinal direction of a heat insulating chamber 2 is formed on a truck 1 of transporting device and a circular-arcuate door 4 which is moved along the inside of a circular- arcuate roof 15 with which the heat insulating chamber 2 is covered is arranged at the opening so that the door can be freely opened and closed. A liner mechanism 5 which is mutually engaged with a shoe 6 and the shoe 6 which is moved along a guide liner which is provided inside the roof 15 seal the space between the door 4 and the roof 15. Because gas in the heat insulating chamber 2 will not leak from the upper part of the door 14, heat insulation of slab is secured.
