The rifle is fitted with a telescopic sight which is supported at each end on brackets which are fastened to the gun barrel. One of these brackets (3) is fitted with a locking device which consists of a U shaped lever (7) which has two arms (7a,7b). Each arm (7a,7b) has a hole for a pivot bolt (33,35) and the lever is held in the locking position by springs (13a,13b) with each spring fitting in a hole in one of the arms (7a,7b). The lever (7) has a claw (5) which engages the dove tail edge of the support (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Gun sight with a locking device which can be operated with a gloved hand.
