PURPOSE:To eliminate a variance of a line width of the converting picture by obtaining an area border value for every four original picture elements surrouding attention converting picture element, dividing an area of the square into four, obtaining a logical value of the original picture element versus attention converting picture element, obtaining the ''OR'' and determining a final logical value of the attention converting picture element. CONSTITUTION:In intervals of original picture elements A, B. C and D, both (i) and (j) coordinates are ''1''. In the figure (a), in the negative direction of the (i) and (j) coordinates, respective Wai and Waj pieces of original picture elements of '1' (black picture element) continues. Here, and area border value of the (i) and (j) coordinates calculates Pwai and Pwaj. Areas A, B, C and D are divided into four by using respective area border values Pwai and Pwaj of an (i) coordinate and (j) coordinate.
