METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING PICTURE

PURPOSE:To provide the method and device for picture generation which quickly generate a picture by practically reducing the frequency of decision of intersection at the time of generating the picture in a three-dimensional CAD. CONSTITUTION:This method is characterized by storing data related to a patch polygon P1 in the first place from a visual point out of patch polygons P1 and P2, which the line of sight passing one picture element on a display picture intersects, correspondingly to respective beams emitted from the visual point and operating a normal vector of intersections between the patch polygon indicated by stored patch polygon data and beams emitted from the visual point and calculating the brightness of the corresponding picture element based on the normal vector.
