PURPOSE:To generate a musical sound close to the sound of a natural musical instrument by storing waveform information by sound ranges and timbre, gener ating different musical sounds by the sound ranges, and switching the waveform information to be generated according to timbre specification. CONSTITUTION:Octave codes from channels 21 and 22 are inputted on a time division basis to an octave selecting circuit 23 through gate circuits 31 and 32, decoded, and supplied to a memory 20, and memory areas for waveform data on corresponding sound ranges are specified. Pitch name code from the channels 21 and 22 are inputted to pitch name selecting circuits 41 and 42, which output clock signals of frequencies corresponding to the pitch name codes; and they are counted by address counters 61 and 62 through waveform shaping circuits 51 and 52 and waveform data are read out of the memory 20. Timbre data of a timbre tablet 25 are supplied to a gate circuit 21 through a synchronizing circuit 24 and combinations of different-timbre waveform data read out of the memory 20 are switched. |
