Method of regulating running of electric trains - receives motor and brake torque according to coefficient of friction grip on wheels or rails according to speed
摘要
The start-up acceleration is controlled according to the coefficient of the wheel/rail positive force contact according to the speed. The braking action is similarly controlled according to the coefft. of the friction wheel/rail grip according to the speed. The train system has a fixed and programmed friction coefft./speed function which, for a given speed value, gives a motor torque according to the stored function and the brake control. The nominal value for a speed gives the required mechanical braking force. The friction grip coefft./speed function is in a program memory. USE/ADVANTAGE - Useful for urban and commuter rail vehicles e.g. subways, elevated trains and tramways where there are short travel times between stops with associated braking and acceleration actions. It makes the best use of the friction grip on the rails shortly after moving from rest until it reaches its mean speed level, to give standard motor starting and braking torque characteristics.
