Hollow charge - with shortened casing and explosive gas guiding body having high penetration capability

A hollow charge comprises a casing base (3) which is held at a distance from the outer shell (1) by a ring formed gas tight stopper (4). The whole shell having rotational symmetry about a central longitudinal axis. There is an explosion gas guiding body (6) of a triangular cross-section which is also ring formed and on the trailing edge of which are mounted the stopper (4) and the casing base (3). When the bursting (explosion) charge (2) detonates, the casing base (3) is guided along the lower gas tight surface (7) of the guiding body (6), while the stopper (4) moves forward along the upper gas tight surface(s). This means that no spike formation damaging explosive gases are released along the contraction axis (11).
