The absorber, which can be in the form of a grid, is arranged on the conductive surface (3) of an object which reflects the electromagnetic waves and consists of a resistive conductor. The conductor forms a closed loop perpendicular to the surface alone or with part of the surface. A matching resistor (11, 12) is arranged in one or both parts of the loop not horizontally aligned w.r.t. the surface. The resistance of the one or two matching resistors equals the value of the wave impedance of the loop section (2) aligned horizontally w.r.t. the surface. ADVANTAGE - Very high energy absorption at very low cost.
