<p>PURPOSE:To easily measure the band on a line of an ATM switching network. CONSTITUTION:An ineffective cell passage volume measuring means 102 measures the passage volume of ineffective cells on a line 101 and outputs information 103 related to the passage volume of ineffective cells. For example, if the passage volume of ineffective cells in each prescribed monitor period does not exceed a prescribed alarm output threshold or any ineffective cells do not pass at all in each prescribed time shorter than this monitor period, the occupation rate of cells other than ineffective cells on the line 101 is regarded as abnormally high, and an alarm output is issued as information 103 related to the passage volume of ineffective cells. Since a specific bit of each cell passing on the line 101 is checked easily whether it is an ineffective cell or not, the occupied band of cells other than ineffective cells on the line 101 is easily measured whether the line 101 is a subscriber line or an inter-office line.</p> |
