The invention relates to a continuously operating centrifuge for straining sugar massecuites. A conically upwardly widened perforated basket 20 rotates about a perpendicular axis 16. A downwardly conically widened product distributor 40 which extends into the floor area of the perforated basket is essentially coaxial with respect to the perforated basket, forms an ejection edge at the bottom and rotates about the same axis. Inside and in the upper area of the product distributor 40 a distributor pot 30 is provided as charging device for the massecuites. The circumferential wall of the product distributor 40 has a plurality of annular elements 41, 42, 43 which overlap in the axial direction leaving an annular gap 44, 45.
