A unit-pole vacuum switch (1) has, for each vacuum switching tube (10), a pole operating unit (5) with a lever arrangement to change the direction of movement generated by a drive device (3). A casing (16) of the pole operating unit (5) contains two toggle levers (21, 22) of which one (21) is coupled to the pushrod (12) of the vacuum switching tube (10) and the other (22) to a supporting lever (25) which acts on a contact pressure spring (32) via a pull-rod (30). In the on position, the toggle levers (21, 22) are close to dead centre. An adjuster (40, 42) makes it possible to adjust the toggle levers (21, 22) in relation to the supporting lever (25).
