<p>A router including an arrangement for locking the shaft (16) against rotation and preventing power from being supplied to the motor when the shaft is locked. The shaft is locked by movement of a lock bar (28) which traps a flatted portion (22) of the shaft (16) in an appropriately dimensioned slot (32). A secondary switch (24) in the power path to the motor is controlled by movement of the lock bar (28). In addition, an indicator lamp (62) connected to the secondary switch (24) is lit when the shaft (16) is locked and the router is still connected to a source of power.</p> |
