<p>The present invention relates to a method and a device for detecting water vapour in an air/water vapour mixture, in which device and method a temperature sensor (50) is introduced into the said mixture, the said temperature sensor (50) having two respective temperature rise times, namely a rise time under air (ta) and a rise time under water vapour (tv), either in a zone which can undergo a heat loss such that when the said volume of air is free from water vapour, the temperature sensor (50) does not reach a set-point temperature (Tc), and when the said volume of air contains a given proportion, or critical proportion (Pc), of water vapour, the temperature sensor (50) reaches the said set-point temperature (Tc), or for a time less than the rise time "under air" (ta) and at least equal to the rise time "under vapour" (tv), a temperature measurement is made, and it is determined whether or not the temperature measured reaches the aforementioned set-point temperature (Tc), so as to indicate whether or not the sensor (50) is in the presence of water vapour.
