A mechanism for changing the position of impeller blades, particularly in water turbines, in which the levers of the blades are connected with the sliding element located inside the support shaft characterised in that the sliding element is located inside a hallow shaft (9), which is placed on bearings in the axial hallow of the support shaft (7), where the sliding element is in the form of a screw (5) mating with a nut (6) supported in a thrust bearing (8) and on the shaft (9), there are mounted at least two gear wheels (10) of a transmission gear, whose intermediate shaft (11) is driven by a gear wheel (12) mounted on the shaft (7).<IMAGE>
