VALVE ELEMENT FOR PRINT HEAD AND PRINT HEAD ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE: To provide a quickly responsive valve for the drop-on-demand type ink jet printer in which ink is isolated from a working unit such as solenoid. CONSTITUTION: A valve 5 has an end wall part, a released side part and a housing 20 sectioning an internal space to receive pressurized ink. A conduit 60 with an orifice which allows discharge of ink drops is formed in the end wall part of the housing. A lever 10 is fixed on the end wall part so as to move around a shaft. The lever 10 has an inward end positioning in the housing and an outward end extending toward outside of the housing. A seal 35 to prevent ink discharge from the orifice 80 by closing the conduit 60 is provided in the inward end. An external device 15 moves the lever 10 around the shaft periodically to release the closure of the conduit 60 by the seal 35, by which ink is discharged from the orifice.
