PURPOSE:To obtain a recording solution not causing its clogging and having excellent recording characteristics by purifying a specific dye so as to give an inorganic component content of <= a specific amount and subsequently mixing the dye as a recording agent in a form of its Na salt with a liquid medium containing water and a glycol compound. CONSTITUTION:A dye of the formula (M is H, Na) is preliminarily purified so as to give an inorganic component content comprising <=1wt.% of NaCl, <=0.5wt.% of Na2O4, and <=50ppm of Ca<2+> ions, and further again adjusted so that the content of Na is >=55mol.% based on the whole amount of M in the M of the formula. The recording agent thus produced is mixed with a liquid medium containing at least water and a glycol compound for the dissolution or dispersion of the recording agent to obtain the objective recording solution. |
