摘要 PURPOSE:To facilitate operability of an automobile by changing at least, one out of engine output characteristics, change gear ratio, the braking force of wheels in such a way as to secure speed reduction characteristics identical to those of natural coasting on the level ground when the footing angles of an accelerator and a brake pedal are both zero. CONSTITUTION:In a vehicle equipped with a mechanism 23 adjusting engine output torque, a mechanism changing a charge gear ratio and with a mechanism adjusting the braking force of wheels, the footing angle of an accelerator pedal is measured by an accelerator angle sensor 2 and the footing angle of a brake pedal is measured by a brake angle sensor 1. In this case, when the footing angles of the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal are both zero, at least one out of engine output characteristics, change gear ratio and the braking force of wheels is changed so that speed reduction characteristics identical to those of natural coasting on the level ground can be obtained. By this constitution, the vehicle is accelerated/decelerated as a driver intends to, and the behavior of the vehicle can thereby be easily forecasted, so that the vehicle can therefore be operated with ease.
