PURPOSE:To provide a picture rotation circuit which can obtain all rotation pictures at every 90 degrees and the mirror images from the same circuit in short processing time without making the circuit into a large scale and making it complicated by means of avoiding software from becoming complicated. CONSTITUTION:A column bit selection part 4 and a row bit selection part 5, which sequentially select picture data in an original picture data holding part 2 in a column unit and a row unit, a read control part 3 controlling whether output from the respective bit selection parts 4 and 5 are to be outputted in an address ascending order or a descending order based on a first selection signal, a selector part 6 selecting data output from either the bit selection part 4 or 5 based on a second control signal and an arrangement control part 7 selecting whether output from the selector part 6 is to be outputted in a forward direction or a reverse direction based on a third control signal are provided. Then, rotation data obtained by rotating original picture data in a 90 degree- unit or the mirror images can be generated by appropriately combining the control signals. |
