PURPOSE:To provide a developing device for press-contact development, which has developer carrying and electrifying quantities suitable for development, and can stably form an image without having irregularities. CONSTITUTION:In the developing device for a press-contact developing system, a developer carrier 9 has structure so that an elastic layer 11 and a tube 12 are concentrically disposed on the outer periphery of a shaft 10, and the surface toughness Rz of the tube 12 is set 0.1-10 [mum] the coefficient of dynamic friction, is set 0.2-0.7, and wear resistance is set <=700[mg], in the abrasion test of JIS-K7311. Then, the product of the Young's modulus E of the tube 12, and film thickness (t) is <=12000. Further, the Young's modulus E of the tube 12 is set within some proper range. |
