PURPOSE:To heighten a starting pulse voltage for a high pressure discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:On a pulse generating transformer 2, a common primary winding and a pair of secondary windings of different number of windings are provided, and the respective secondary windings are connected to both end portions of a high pressure discharge lamp separately. Thereby parasitic oscillations can be induced by the difference of stray capacitances between respective secondary windings to elevate peak values and to provide pulse voltages containing several peak portions in a fundamental period. |
