<p>PURPOSE:To make a discrimination as to whether a reflector is a metal or not, by a simple apparatus construction and a signal processing. CONSTITUTION:Powers of a vertical polarization component and a horizontal polarization component of an elliptical polarization power oscillated by an oscillator 3 are monitored by a monitor 4. An electromagnetic wave power is radiated into the air from an antenna 6, the electromagnetic power reflected by a reflector is received by the antenna 6 and the horizontal polarization component and the vertical polarization component of the reflected power are detected by detectors 8 and 9 separately. From the ratio of reflectivity between the horizontal component and the vertical component, it is discriminated by a signal processing element 10 whether the reflector is a metal or not.</p> |
