Prevention and treatment of paradentosis - comprises applying blood perfusion enhancer, e.g. heparin, to gum or teeth

Paradentosis is prevented or treated by fixing a compsn. (A) contg. a blood perfusion enhancer to the gum or teeth. (A) pref. comprises heparin admixed with or soaked in a guaze-like substance, e.g. as in Leukoplast. It is fixed to the outer and/or inner gum using a suitable adhesive and is adapted to the shape of the gum and, for cosmetic reasons, to the colour of the gum. This can be suitably carried out by the dentist on the basis of dentures or dental plates. Alternatively, it can be mechanically fixed to teeth. In both instances, (A) should be applied in a layer which is as thin as possible. USE/ADVANTAGE - The method is versatile and more effective and painless compared to known methods.
