The tappet has a pressure piston (12) which is spring-loaded and moves longitudinally in the guide tube (9) and a compensation membrane (11) radially enclosing the pressure piston and the guide tube with which it forms a fluid storage chamber (27). The compensation membrane has its ends sealed to the pressure piston and the guide tube. It has the form of two axially abutting blunt cones (34) which are formed symmetrically. It incorporates wave-shaped bulge formations (35), which extend parallel to a longitudinal axis (14) of the cup tappet (1).
