An atmospheric gas burner comprises a number of burner chambers 4 which are arranged parallel to one another and are fed with a gas/air mixture via a common distributor 1 equipped longitudinally with individual gas nozzles 2 and via individual mixing tubes 3 assigned to these gas nozzles 2. In order, by overigniting the burner chambers 4 in steps, to reduce the escape of unburnt gas in the starting phase and to avoid the flashback of the burner flames into the region of the gas nozzles 2, the distributor 1 is longitudinally subdivided, by means of a relief valve 6, into two portions x and y which, in the event of a gradual rise in the gas pressure, are supplied successively with gas in steps. <IMAGE> |
