<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal printer effectively using a power source having a relatively small power capacity and having no possibility of a reduction of a printing speed. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic part 17 calculates an electric current to be consumed for printing on the basis of printing data 21 stored in a second shift register 4-2. The resultant value is compared with a power capacity of a power source part 2. Printing is conducted by selectively controlling printing elements 10A of a heating part 10 in a time sharing system within the range of the electric current less than the power capacity.</p> |
