PURPOSE:To obtain an optimum steering force at each turning of a steering wheel by providing a setting means for setting a value to generate an assisting force according to a steering state. CONSTITUTION:At each turning of a steering wheel, a steering angular velocity of the steering wheel is detected by a sensor 63. Based on this detected result, a set value is set to generate an assisting force according to a steering state from a setting means 60. According to this set value, a control means 41 is operated to set a hydraulic assisting mechanism 44 to the assisting force corresponding to the steering angular velocity. In concrete, when the steering wheel is operated slowly, the assisting force gets large (steering wheel:light), and when the steering wheel is operated quickly, the assisting force becomes small (steering wheel : heavy). Such control is executed at each turning of the steering wheel. Thus, an optimum steering force can be obtained at each turning of the steering wheel, and steering feeling can be improved. |
