PURPOSE:A new compound useful as a medicine or agricultural chemical. CONSTITUTION:A compound of the formula (R is methoxymethyl, phosphoroxymethyl, carbamoyl), e.g. 5-methoxymethyl-1H-oxazo[5,4-h]pyrrolo[2,2- f]quinoline-2,8,10-tricarboxylic acid. The compound is obtained by reactin 4,5- dihydro-4,5-dioxo-lH-pyrrolo[2,2-f]quinoline-2,7,9-tricarboxylic acid (referred to as PQQ) with a serine derivative in a solvent (e.g. dimethy sulfoxide) at 10-100 deg.C. The concentration of the PQQ is preferably 0.0001-100nM, and the serine derivative is used in an amount of 1-1000 times mole that of the PQQ. |
