PURPOSE:To provide a self-diagnosing device which can discover automatically disorder in relation to a tension detecting apparatus for a winding material. CONSTITUTION:A detecting roll 21 is brought into contact with a material pulled out through a wind-up roll, a load to be applied to the detecting roll 21 at this time is detected by load detecting apparatuses 22, 23, through which tension applied to the material is detected. A weight body 50 having a fixed mass is prepared to self-diagnose a tension detecting apparatus like this. The weight body 50 is suspended on both ends of the detecting roll 21 by U-shaped suspending belts 51, 52, output values of the load detecting apparatuses 22, 23 at this time are compared with a fixed reference value fixed in accordance with the mass of the weight body 50 and when both of them coincides with each other, diagnosis where it is normal is made. Usually, the weight body 50 is constituted so that the load does not act upon the detecting roll 21 by pushing up a pedestal 60 by pistons 61, 62 and action as the tension detecting apparatus is not disturbed. |
