PURPOSE:To provide a new genus Fusarium microorganism useful for controlling soil diseases such as tomato fusarium wilt because of having a soil disease- controlling ability, and possible to be readily traced its behaviors in a plant, etc., because of being resistant against the germicide such as benomyl. CONSTITUTION:Fusarium.oxysporum B-5 strain (FERM 12399) and Fusarium.oxysporum B-2 strain (FERM 12398) having a soil disease-controlling ability and exhibiting resistance against germicides. The microorganisms are obtained by irradiating a Fusarium.oxysporum Fo-304 strain effective to tomato half body fusarium wilt, etc., with UV rays. The germicides against which the microorganisms exhibit the resistance include not only benomyl but also germicides having structures similar to the benomyl, such as carbendazole and thiophanate. |
