PURPOSE:To easily set the initial phase of each device of a web processing machine containing printing devices and a processing device, reduce an amount of paper waste at the time of carrying paper, and eliminate the need for a compensator by a method wherein each device is independently actuated, and the phase of a drive motor is synchronously controlled for every device. CONSTITUTION:Printing devices 1-4 and a folding device 5 of, e.g. a rotary press are driven by motors 8 provided for every device. In the vicinity of each rotating part 18, an origin sensor 20 is provided. The number phiB of pulses phiB corresponding to the distance between the sensor 20 and an origin mark 19 on the rotating part 18 is inputted to each origin data setting device 23 of a controller 15. By operating an initial phase setting switch 22, the motor 8 starts driving and stops at the inputted initial phase. By inputting a reference speed to a common speed setting device 25, a reference pulse phiA is inputted to a control circuit 24. In addition, the phase pulses phiC of the motor 8 generated by a pulse generator 17 is counted. The rotating speed of the motor 8 is controlled in accordance with a value phiC, phiA+phiB-phiC. |
