PURPOSE:To shorten the warm-up time of a thermal fixation device for an electrophotographic recording device and to improve the function of thermal fixation. CONSTITUTION:In the case of supplying power to the heat generating part of a thermal fixation roller and heating it so that the surface temperature of the thermal fixation roller may rise until up to an action temperature at the time of starting the electrophotographic recording device, the roller is heated by a warm-up pulse current (ta) until the operation temperature is obtained after the surface temperature becomes a set temperature lower than the operation temperature, and the roller is heated by a pulse current for holding the temperature (tc) from when the surface temperature of the thermal fixation roller which is lowering after the warm-up pulse current is interrupted becomes lower than the prescribed temperature until the operation temperature is recovered. In this case, the duty ratios of the warm-up pulse current and the pulse current for holding the temperature are respectively made <50%, and also, the pulse width (tc) of the pulse current for holding the temperature is made larger than the pulse width (ta) of the warm-up pulse current. |
