An antitheft device which can be attached to a steering wheel of an automobile comprises an elongated body 1 having two parallel passageways extending longitudinally, a first hook 13 being secured to the body member for engagement with the steering wheel, a first elongated rod member R1, adapted to move in telescopic fashion in one of the passageways formed in the body member, a second hook R10 being secured to the first rod member, for engagement with the steering wheel at a point opposite that of the first hook and a second elongated rod member R2 adapted to extend in telescopic fashion in a direction opposite to that of the first rod member. A lock assembly 9 is disposed within the body member for engaging both the rod members at any of a plurality of positions. A cartridge R24 containing tear gas may be provided for user's self-protection. <IMAGE> |
