The rotary display has a solar cell (3), used to power a miniature electric motor (4) and positioned between upper and lower parts (1,2) acting as a base, above which a rotating disc (5) is supported, by fitting it to the output shaft of the motor (4). An intermediate space is provided between the upper and lower parts (1,2) and the solar cell (3), so that the latter is free to slide relative to the upper and lower parts (1,2). Pref the latter are milled to provide a recess (6) which has an outer dia. which is greater than the external measurements of the solar cell (3) and a depth which is greater than the thickness of the solar cell (3). ADVANTAGE - Accommodates different thermal expansions of base parts and solar cell.
