Mercury@ droplet electrode with magnetic needle valve - has flexible needle with tip centring and armature centring mounting locations

In a mercury droplet electrode for polarographic measurments with a magnetic needle valve, the novelty is that a valve needle (5) of spring wire is mounted at two locations, the lower location (13) providing centring of the needle tip in a widened glass capillary (6) and the upper location (12) providing centring of the magnet armature (3) in the coil (2). ADVANTAGE - The design reduces the effects of the capillary mfg. tolerances on the functioning of the electrode, simplifies the electrode construction and improves operational reliability of the electrode.
