The independent suspension system is for a non-steered wheel on a passenger car. The elastic bearing (25) of the linkage arm (5) has a spring rate ratio c-radial/c-axial where the spring rate c-axial of the axial main axis (28) is low. The radial main axis (29) runs in the direction of the interference forces of an inclined telescopic spring strut (9) and the lower end of the strut (7) is connected to the linkage member (5).
