Moist consolidated sand is spread into vertical mesh bags (6) arranged side by side so that sand walls (10) are created around which hot air flows from both sides and the surface layer of the sand is gradually dried along the whole height of the sand walls; the surface layer becomes loose and the individual dried sand granules are separated from the moist sand and due to gravity they fall down through the holes of the mesh bags (6) in the direction of the angle of discharge. The equipment consists of fillers (2) for the moist sand located one above the other, a drying section (1) and vertically arranged mesh bags (6) with inside areas connected by sand walls (10) to the inside space of the filler (2) equipped with an input and output for hot air and a storage unit (3) for the dry sand with an outlet hole.<IMAGE>
