PURPOSE:To improve the cleaning effect of gelatin by incorporating a nonion surfactant having a polyoxyethylene group into a detergent. CONSTITUTION:When a production device for a silver halide photographic emulsion is cleaned with a detergent, a nonion surfactant having a polyoxyethylene group is incorporated into the detergent. More preferably, an alkali soln. is incorporated into the detergent. The nonion surfactant preferably used includes compds. expressed by formula I. As for the alkali, hydroxides of alkali metals such as NaOH, KOH, etc., and hydroxides of alkaline-earth metals such as Ca(OH)2 etc., are used. Thereby, both soilings of gel-state gelatin and sol-state can be effectively washed off and silver halide can be also washed off together. This detergent is effective even in low concn., so that the running cost can be suppressed. |
