PURPOSE:To accurately detect the under color in an original picture and to always reproduce the undercolor level as the white label of imprint paper without deteriorating the color reproducibility of the other color. CONSTITUTION:A color line sensor 104 pre-scans the color original to be read and inputs RGB signals. A histogram counting circuit 108 counts the frequency of appearance with at least two color combination of R, G, and B by inputted RGB signals. A CPU 115 extracts the combination of the RGB value whose frequency of appearance becomes maximum from the histogram. A non-linear conversion circuit 110 performs the non-linear conversion of the R, G, and B signals of the color original based on the extracted R, G, and B values. |
