PURPOSE:To omit a troublesome operation by the operator by providing a changeover means selecting a video signal from an image pickup signal output means or an external video signal and giving the selected signal to the recorder. CONSTITUTION:When an input detection section 14 does not detect an external input signal but outputs a signals of an H level, a control section 11 is used to record a video signal resulting from the exposure by an image pickup element 8 onto a recording medium 1. When the detection section 14 detects the external input signal and its output signal S goes to an L level, the control section 11 throws switches SW1, SW2 to the position of a contact B, and an external input signal decoded by a recording signal processing circuit 13 is inputted to a modulator 6. Moreover, a vertical synchronizing signal separated from the video signal by a synchronizing separator circuit 15 is inputted to a servo circuit 3 and the operation of the circuit 3 is controlled by the control section 11. Thus, the video signal picked up by a camera section or the external video signal is selected and recorded without troubling a troublesome operation for the operator. |
