PURPOSE:To separate a medium surely without causing irregularity in a toner image and without making a device expensive as for structure that the medium on which the toner image is transferred is separated from an image carrier in an electrophotographic recorder. CONSTITUTION:This structure is the structure which is provided in a transfer unit 6, which transfer the toner image on a medium 5, by being faced to an image carrier 1 through a gap and set for separating the medium 5 from the carrier 1. A surface part 9a is projectingly provided at the end part of the medium ejection side of the outside housing 9 of the unit 6 by being brought into contact with the medium 5 and the housing 9 is grounded. Rugged notches 10 are arrayed on the tip part of the surface part 9a of the housing 9 and the tip part of the surface part 9a on which the rugged notches 10 are arrayed is constituted by being provided with plural insulating projections 11 which prevent electric contact with the medium 5.
