The heat exchanger consists of connection boxes, located at a given relative distance. Each has a cover, a fluid-tight soldered base (3), parallel flat tubes (5), and ribs between the tubes. The ends (5a) of the flat tubes are inserted into openings (6) in the bases, and are soldered so that they are fluid-tight. Each opening is made by punching, and its circumferential dimensions are smaller than the outer dimensions of a flat tube end. When a tube end is inserted, the raised edge (14) of the hole is widened, and/or the end of the tube is constricted. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple mechanically secure retention of tube ends in refrigerator heat exchanger, with soldering resistant to high pressures.
