The ram of a press is driven by a connecting rod (10) and a bearing bush (9) which is mounted eccentrically on the driving shaft (3). The magnitude of the eccentricity of the bearing bush can be adjusted in order to vary the press stroke by two eccentric bushes (1,2). The first bush is mounted on the second bush which is mounted directly on the shaft (2). The first bush (1) has a recess with internal teeth (5) while the second bush (2) has a central boss (6) which is provided with external teeth. A pinion (7) is mounted so that it engages the teeth of both bushes. USE/ADVANTAGE - Press with variable working stroke. The angular positions of top and bottom dead centres are not affected.
