<p>Diesel fuel (I) with reduced ignition temp. comprises 1-3 C mono-nitroalkanes and opt. initiators for chain reactions. Pref. (I) contains 0.00075-0.75 wt.% 2-3C mono-nitroalkanes and 0.00025-0.25 pref. 0.01-1 wt% nitromethane. (I) contains 0.01-1 wt.% mono-nitroalkanes in a composition produced by the gas-phase nitration of propane. (I) contains 10-1000 wt.ppm initiators for chain reactors pref. azobisisobutyronitrile. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is used in quick-running Diesel engines with reduced carbon black formation on burning</p>
